Caravan Finance Explained

There are two main types of finance deals that you might want to consider:

Hire Purchase (‘HP’)
This is a type of loan which is secured against the caravan itself. This is a great choice for people who want to spread out the cost of their caravan over a period of time. Typically, HP deals involve a deposit, and then the remainder of the balance is paid in instalments, plus interest. Once you’ve paid your final instalment, you will own the caravan outright.

Personal Contract Purchase (‘PCP’)
This is a good option for those who like to change their caravan every few years but don’t want to pay a large sum each time. You will typically be asked to pay a deposit followed by monthly payments. At the end of the agreed period, you will have the option to either pay the remainder of the balance, return the caravan, or to use any residual value on a deal for your next caravan.
